Acweorna! Here we go again! I was planning on playing a track from each of my Record Shop Day haul from last week on this episode but I only managed three. I start and finish things off with a demo. The first comes courtesy of a band who are new to me but sadly are no more whilst the second is oh so familiar but again sadly are no more. There’s a couple of Arne Thelin related tunes with an interconnectedness thrown in for good measure. Rob Moss’ side project has it’s first fruits aired and then it’s a new track each from The Reflectors and Criminal Damage. Former More Kicks and one time Role Model guitarist James Sullivan has just released a new album. One of the tracks had me thinking it had hints of a John Lennon song, so we enter the “Compare & Contrast” segmentation. You can now, if you haven’t already, pre-order Rich Ragany’s debut solo album and when you do you get a sneak download of one of the tracks, which I of course play you. Another new band to me are David Delinquent & The IOUs. They haven’t a huge back catalogue but on the strength of their new single I have stripped mined their BandCamp site. “Covers Corner” this week takes in the b-side to the new Chesterfield Kings single and as I move into my Record Shop purchases Chaft G.B.I that’ll be Dave Grohl, Charlie Benante and Scott Ian I play their take on a Bad Brains song. Steve Conte’s new solo LP was released on Record Shop Day that unfortunately I could buy from my local independent Record Shop, that’ll be Raven Retail-Music, the only place I could find it in my hast was Am*z*n. That aside what a great album as you will hear.
